NYC’s famed SOUP (Support our Underground Properly) parties were founded by nightlife pro Chris Love (SOUP, Stuck On Earth) in the mid-90’s, and were designed to bring together dancers who wanted to hear the best in underground House and techno music. Legendary DJ’s Andy Smith (of Portishead fame), Detroit techno hero Juan Atkins, & NYC house staple Baby Hector Romero were some of the first to grace the decks at SOUP, leading into a decade of top-quality House and Techno events . After a short hiatus from 2006-2009, Chris Love restarted to SOUP brand, ultimately teaming up with veteran DJ AB Logic (of the Hoodfellas, Stranjjur Imprint, & Smoke City Music.) Known for its thick vibes, wild dance floors, and world class DJ’s, SOUP quickly gained popularity in NYC among people seeking the best in underground music. In addition to playing host to top flight monthly guests, SOUP has some of the most talented resident DJ’s NYC has to offer in Chris Love & AB Logic, and rotating residents Chris Patrick, Nick Jagger, and Joe Pompeo. After years of dance-floor destruction at various NYC venues the SOUP crew was given a residency at the infamous Sullivan Room nightclub where they grace the decks on the second Friday’s of each month alongside an illustrious list of guest DJ’s. SOUP’s amazing music and crowd, combined Sullivan Room’s perfect dance music atmosphere and incredible sound system, have created what’s on course to become one of NYC’s top House+Techno nights for years to come.
